Conditions Treated
It is estimated the lifetime prevalence of low back pain is 80%. So it is likely that at some point in your life you will deal with back pain in some capacity. It may range from a mild ache to debilitating pain. Issues such as disc protrusions/bulges, muscle strains, ligament sprains, spinal stenosis, and arthritis of the spine are some of the common problems we see. Whether it be in someone with a new onset of pain or someone dealing with pain for several years, our goal remains the same: to determine the factors contributing to your individual pain experience and develop the best plan of care to get you back to doing the things you love.
The National Institute of Health has estimated that the prevalence of foot pain ranges from 9%-30% of the population. Common causes of foot pain include plantar fasciitis/fasciopathy, Achilles tendinopathy, tendinopathy of the muscles/tendons that support your arch and ankle, and sprains of your ankle or foot. Considering each foot is made up of 26 bones, 30 joints, and over 100 muscles, tendons, and ligaments, these problems can many times be persistent and difficult to get rid of without proper diagnosis and treatment. At Integrative PT and Wellness, we offer multiple treatment options, including manual therapy, dry needling, specialized exercise programming, gait retraining, taping, and advice on activity modifications, shoe options, and orthotics, all of which can help to resolve that foot pain that can have such a large impact on your life.
It is estimated the prevalence of neck pain in the world ranges from 16%-75%. While the exact percentage is not known for certain, odds are that you or someone you know has or is dealing with neck pain. The cervical spine, or neck, consists of 7 vertebrae (bones of the spine), interspaced by vertebral discs (the cartilaginous cushions between the vertebrae), and several muscles and ligaments. Common conditions that lead to neck pain include sprains and strains of the ligaments and muscles, whiplash, injuries to the discs, arthritis of the spinal joints, and chronic tension in the neck muscles. At Integrative PT and Wellness, we often utilize a combination of treatment approaches that include manual therapy, dry needling, specific exercise programming, postural retraining, and advice on activity modifications, all of which are catered to your specific problem to provide you with superior results and get you back to doing the activities you love.
Shoulder pain is a common problem in the general population, with studies estimating the annual prevalence ranging from 4%-46% of the population. The shoulder joint consists of the humerus (upper bone of the arm) attaching to the shoulder blade. Additional boney structures that play a role in the shoulder joint's function include the acromioclavicular joint (joint of the shoulder blade and collar bone), the sternoclavicular joint (joint of the collar bone and sternum), and the spine. There are also several muscles and ligaments that attach to the shoulder joint that act both to promote movement and strength, as well as to provide support to the shoulder. Common sources of shoulder pain are strains or tears of the rotator cuff muscles, bursitis, adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder), traumatic dislocations, and arthritis. With so many structures potentially affecting your shoulder pain, getting the right diagnosis and treatment plan is crucial to resolving your pain. At Integrative PT and Wellness, we start with a thorough history of your pain and examination of all of the structures that affect your shoulder. We will then work with you to devise a plan that addresses the problem areas, often involving a combination of manual therapy, dry needling, specific exercise programming, postural training, and activity modifications, in order to resolve your pain and get you back to the activities you love.
