Services Provided
Manual Therapy
Manual therapy includes spinal mobilization, extremity mobilization, muscle release techniques, myofascial release, and soft tissue mobilization. Research has proven that the combination of manual therapy with exercise provides superior outcomes compared to exercise alone in many conditions.
Dry Needling
Dry needling, or intramuscular therapy, is a technique that is used to help myofascial pain. It involves inserting a small needle into “trigger points.” These “trigger points” are tender irritable spots in fascia and muscle. Often improvement in pain and range of motion can be noticed immediately after dry needling. There is no medicine injected into the area (thus why it is called “dry” needling). This allows us to provide another natural way to allow your body to heal.
ASTYM
ASTYM involves the use of tools to enable the physical therapist to detect and treat areas of soft tissue restrictions that often affect movement that cause pain with daily activities. The use of ASTYM assists in facilitating your body’s own healing mechanisms to promote natural healing.
Cupping
Cupping involves the use of silicone or glass suction cups on the skin to create a decompression effect. This lifts the skin, tissue, and muscle upwards to enhance circulation, relieve muscle tension, and promote your body’s ability to naturally repair the restricted areas.
Kinesiotaping
Kinesiotaping is often used to help facilitate, support, or inhibit certain muscles or joints that have been injured, inhibited, or overused. The use of kinesiotape can be helpful with certain conditions to promote the appropriate activation or relaxation of muscles which in turn decreases pain and improves daily and sport activities.
Therapeutic/Corrective Exercises
Not all exercise are the same. Specific tailored exercises that are designed to help correct muscle imbalance, inhibition, compensations, or true weakness are provided to assist in improving overall function and sport activity. Whether your activity that you are having difficulty with is getting out of a chair or running a marathon, specific exercises can help you achieve your goal.
